Sheep Show Hat Kit - The Bendigo Project 2026

Kit for the Sheep Show Hat by Kath Martin as part of The Bendigo Project 2026.

This kit includes 2 skeins of yarn, and now includes a pattern code which will allow you you to download the pattern from the launch day on March 28th 2026!

The Yarn

Our Sheep Show Hat kits are dyed on an 8 ply base of 100% Superwash Merino Wool.

250m per 100g

There are two colour options:

• One 100g skein of Bendigo Purple and one 100g skein of Bendigo Aqua
• One 100g skein of Bendigo Red and one 100g skein of Bendigo Gold

You can use either colour as the main and the accent!

This product is individually hand dyed so there will be variation in colours. This is part of the magic of this product. Photographs have been taken to be as accurate as possible, but please understand that viewing environments may change how colours are perceived.

The Pattern

The annual Australian Sheep and Wool Show in Bendigo is a winter highlight on every Australian yarn lover’s calendar, and the icy-cold weather at that time means a cosy, warm hat is a must!

Sporting beautiful and easy braids and cables, this beanie is a quick and satisfying knit that will match your Sheep Show Socks and Mitts for the perfect winter set.

The pattern uses DK weight (8ply) yarn – you could choose a special single skein or use a combination of yarns and have fun with colour.
